When Dancing is Your Thing

• Garfinkel's. Attracts a sports bar/hipster/over-20 followingwith a mixed baggie of indie rock hits, funky classics andhot-steppin' dance tracks.
• Moe Joe's. A smaller, more intimate form of Garf's - similarclientele and music mix, but the atmosphere is uniquely theirown.
• Buffalo Bill's. Attracts an over-30s crowd and also spices upthe scene with regular comedy nights and hypnotists.
• The Savage Beagle. A is split-level entertainmentestablishment. Sit upstairs, smoke a cigar while the dancers inyour group head downstairs.
• Tommy Africa's. The fun bunch are often spotted on thespeakers. Young to 21 crowd.

Live Music

• The Dubh Linn Gate. An Irish pub atmosphere with livetraditional and modern Irish music every apres and every night ofthe week. All with no cover charge.
• Black's Pub. Scotch and beer from the four corners of the worldoverlooking Whistler Village and the mountain base.
• The Crystal Lounge, Brandy's, Monk's and the Cinnamon Bear Bar.Relax in comfort, while local lone guitarists play yourrequests.
• Le Brasserie. A cozy pub environment in the Village square. Aprime people-watching location.

Beyond Apres

• Merlin's. at the base of Blackcomb is a popular hang out forlocal mountain staff.
• Dusty's. At the base of Whistler in Creekside.
• GLC and the Longhorn. In the Village... hip and happening.

Mellow

• Mallard Bar in the Chateau Whistler. There's nothing likesipping a martini and posing as posh... unless of course youactually are.
• Tapley's Pub. Low-key sports bar where the local working crewhang.
• Citta's Bar. Central Village Square, Citta's is a fantasticlocation to catch the action. In the summertime, its patio can't bebeat.

f you are looking for a large sports centre that offers all themain fitness machines, weights and more, you can choose between TheCore, located in the Village, or the Meadow Park Sports Centre inthe Alpine Meadow sector. The first is a fitness facility featuringan indoor climbing area with easy from professional routes,weights, cardio, fitness and yoga classes and equipment.

There is also a Kids' Adventure Centre, helpful on a rainyafternoon or for an introduction to rock climbing. The second,Meadow Park, provides endless possibilities. With an indoor pooland kids pool (including lazy river and rope swing!), hot tub,steam room, ice rink arena, fitness studio, weight room and squashcourt, you will enjoy a top-of-the-art training centre.

Join a Class - Fitness, Yoga and More

If you prefer a group environment and want to discover anew activity, both locations offer a wide range drop-inclasses. Meadow Park Sports Centre schedules aerobics, step,pilates and boxfit classes and circuit-training. The Core offersspin, ball fit, pilates, cardio, weight, runner fit, core and yogaclasses in its fitness studio, as well as climbing lessons on theindoor climbing wall. The Solarice Spa located in the Village alsofeatures a yoga studio with a variety of Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi,and Meditation classes.

TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival

Celebrate 10 days of sports, music andfreeskiing during the TELUS World Ski & SnowboardFestival. The Vancouver Sun calls this festival a "blastof rock and awe," with days full of eye-popping freeskiing eventsand après-ski action.

Held annually in April, the festival features pro-ski andsnowboard competitions, free daily concerts, film screening,photography viewings, family activities plus plenty of skiing andriding. Visit the Demo Park to try out the newest ski and snowboardmodels.

At night the atmosphere heats up with the Kokanee Freeride, ashowcase of Canadian musical talent. Free and ticketed events takeplace on Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains, throughout WhistlerVillage as well as in various other venues.

Trails to Off-Road

Whistler is home to incredible off-road cycling. Skilift-serviced downhill runs, cross country trails, extremefree-rides and family tours all exist in spectacular west coastscenery.

The Gentle Valley Trail

The gentle Whistler Valley Trail, 30 kilometres or 18.6miles in length, winds through the Valley.

Whistler Village is the pedestrian-oriented hub of the valleyand is linked from Whistler Creek in the south to Emerald Estatesin the north by over 30 km of paved multi-use Valley Trail. Thisscenic and relatively flat route accesses several municipal parkssuch as Meadow, Rainbow, Beach, Lost Lake, Wayside, Lakeside andAlpha Lake Parks.

A new festival is coming to Whistler over the Labour Daylong weekend from September2^nd to4^th.

The Jazz on the Mountain festival is a weekend filled withconcerts by top international and Canadian jazz artists, freeconcerts around Whistler Village, a street festival with children'sentertainment and family fun and a master class series for selectedstudents.

Outdoor concerts at Whistler Olympic Plaza

Daily outdoor ticketed concerts will be at the WhistlerOlympic Plaza. Jazz on the Mountain will feature jazzgreats including Kevin Eubanks Quartet, Stanley Jordan Trio, OliverJones Trio, The New Gary Burton Quartet, Spyro Gyra, TheRippingtons and more!

Tickets are available as a 3 day pass or single daypasses and will provide access to the Whistler OlympicPlaza venue from noon until night, with in and outprivileges.   Tickets are valid for all shows each day inthe Whistler Olympic Plaza.

The venue will also feature the Jazz Bistrosponsored by Heineken, Appleton Estate Rum and its Festivalbeverage The Appleton Pentatonic, and by WineOnline.  Relax in this great venue and enjoy snacks,cheese, gourmet food, beer, wine and other beverages.

There will be a Solo GuitarSeries at MillenniumPlace. This late night series ofperformances is set to thrill as three jazz guitar masters eachtake to the stage for a solo performance.  This is a ticketedevent and will feature guitar virtuosos Stanley Jordan, KevinEubanks and Russ Freeman (of The Rippingtons) in their element.

Free outdoor concerts

Whistler's Village Square, at the very heart ofthe resort will host a stage for the duration of thefestival.  Daily free shows are at 2pm and 4:30pm and willfeature the powerhouse jazz fusion ensemble Five After Four, bassvirtuoso Michael Farquharson, drum wizard Mat Marucci, Five AlarmFunk and more!

Street Festival

Throughout the three-day Jazz on the Mountainfestival, Whistler Village will come alive with anincredible street festival featuring acoustic musicians,face-painters, jugglers and acrobats. This is the perfectentertainment for kids and all the family.
