Whether it’s your first time seeing Canada’s breathtaking Rocky Mountains or your tenth, there’s no better time to visit world-famous Whistler than President’s Week (Feb. 19 – 23).

You and your family can fly out of many American cities at breakfast and be in Vancouver, BC (just an hour away from Whistler) by lunchtime.

If you’d like to make the short hop from Vancouver to Whistler in luxury style, consider a limousine transfer or better yet, a helicopter charter with views of Vancouver and the Coast Mountains most people will never get to see.

Also known as Family Day in Canada, President’s Day is a great time to celebrate with family in one of the most gorgeous locations in the world. Your weekend with us will be jam-packed with family-friendly events and precious memories to last a lifetime.

President’s Week Events, Whistler BC

Whistler-Blackcomb (the two-mountain resort town on every adventure-lover’s wishlist) is well-known for classic winter activities like nordic skiing (cross-country), snowshoeing, ice skating, and some of the finest alpine skiing slopes in the world, renowned for their deep, fluffy powder.

But there’s a whole lot more on offer here, and we invite you to come enjoy it all at Aloha Whistler. This President’s Day on Monday, February 19, there are a number of special events we can recommend.

Consider heading to Meadow Park Sports Center where ice skating drop-ins will be 50% off. There’s a family-friendly stick-and-puck session too, from 4:30 – 5:30 PM (perfect pre-dinner activity for you and the kids).

If you’d rather take in some of the freshest and cleanest alpine air in the world while gliding across the ice, then the Whistler Olympic Plaza is the place to be with all-day free admission (Feb. 19) for the outdoor skating rink. This is the perfect place to enjoy unforgettable mountain views and cozy village vibes (and there’s a Snow Zone play area just for the kids).

For something with a slower pace, take a self-guided tour through the village of Whistler. CBC-narrated podcasts guide you on a relaxing stroll through Whistler as you learn about its rich history and absorb its breathtaking beauty. Stop in at one of many world-class cafes and restaurants for a bite and a hot chocolate, or check out some local arts and crafts.

There’s enough fun and leisure here in Whistler to last you not just a week, but a lifetime.

Whistler Olympic Park has the answer:

a ride you’ll never forget in an Olympic bobsleigh driven by a trained pilot. Speed through hair-raising twists and turns at up to 125 km/h (80mph), or take the solo “skeleton” race where you go down the track head first!

If the bobsleigh track strikes a bit too much fear into your heart, then a few hours in the saddle of a snowmobile might be more your style, with tours available for all skill levels (and for kids too).

From beginner-friendly scenic tours that move at an easy pace, to mountain-conquering and powder-slicing backcountry expeditions for the more intrepid, this is a must-try Canadian pastime activity during your President’s Week adventure at Aloha Whistler.

Then again, you might be seeking excitement but you’d rather be in the sky above the treetops than on the ground. We’ve got you covered there too!

Whistler’s zipline tours

Sends you flying through old-growth forest on a spectacular highwire flight over valleys and creeks. Keep your eyes peeled while you’re soaring through the alpine forest because you might spot an eagle, a moose, or even a bear!

For those seeking adventure and relaxation further afield, there are some hot springs in the Whistler-Blackcomb vicinity too (most are within a few hours’ drive), many of which involve a backcountry hike to remote spots for a bone-warming soak in a tranquil Rocky Mountain paradise.

If you’ve come for rest and refreshment but don’t want to spend more time on the roads, we’ve got what you need here in town. Whistler’s spas have steam rooms, saunas, plunge pools, massage and body work services, yoga classes, and more; in other words, everything you need for a much-deserved total rejuvenation of body and mind.

And that’s just scratching the surface! Try your hand at ice fishing, practice axe throwing like an ancient viking, take an afternoon wine tour, or settle in for a good old-fashioned evening in the hot tub while you gaze at the distant mountain peaks and sip on a glass of vintage BC wine.

The bad news is that during your stay with us at Aloha Whistler, you won’t have time to do it all. But don’t worry, that’s just more fuel for planning next year’s trip while you’re here!
