TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival
Celebrate 10 days of sports, music and free skiing during the TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival. The Vancouver Sun calls this festival a “blast of rock and awe,” with days full of eye-popping free skiing events and après-ski action.
Held annually in April, the festival features pro-ski and snowboard competitions, free daily concerts, film screening, photography viewings, family activities plus plenty of skiing and riding. Visit the Demo Park to try out the newest ski and snowboard models.
At night the atmosphere heats up with the Kokanee Freeride, a showcase of Canadian musical talent. Free and ticketed events take place on Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains, throughout Whistler Village as well as in various other venues.

Hot rod tours combine guided backcountry touring with the excitement of a street legal all terrain vehicle. These custom built hot rods are to be fueled by environmentally friendly natural gas by 2008, and were showcased at the 2006 Torino Olympic Games. Our established hiking trails are located on Whistler Mountain,however, sightseeing is available on Blackcomb Mountain until July27, 2008. Access is via the Wizard and Solar Coaster Chairlifts,then a bus ride to the 7th Heaven Express. Hours of operation: 12pmto 3pm. Uploading from the Wizard Express begins at 11am.

Whistler Hiking Tips
- Never hike alone
- Be prepared. Mountain weather changes frequently so carry extraclothing.
- Observe all closures. Stay on marked trails to avoid damage tothe alpine ecosystem.
- Steep slopes, snow and ice fields are very dangerous. You mayencounter various hazards such as cliffs, glaciers, crevasses, rockfalls, avalanches and unstable surfaces.
- Treat all wildlife with caution. Do not feed or approachbears.
- Carry water, a snack, sunscreen and a watch. Make note of thelast ride down (5:30pm).
- No hiking permitted in the Bike Park.
- Fires, dogs and camping are not allowed.

The gentle Whistler Valley Trail, 30 kilometres or 18.6miles in length, winds through the Valley.
Whistler Village is the pedestrian-oriented hub of the valley and is linked from Whistler Creek in the south to Emerald Estates in the north by over 30 km of paved multi-use Valley Trail. This scenic and relatively flat route accesses several municipal parks such as Meadow, Rainbow, Beach, Lost Lake, Wayside, Lakeside and Alpha Lake Parks.
Off-Road Mountain Biking
Whistler’s Coast Mountain topography dictates that most involve fairly steep and rocky terrain. The Whistler Valley hosts an extensive network of trails for riders of all abilities. Epic rides like Comfortably Numb, provide Whistler riders with a huge range of riding.
