‘Via Ferrata’ is Italian for ‘Iron Way’, a climbing route with permanently fixed cables for protection and metal ladder rungs to ease your movement over rock.
With two routes to choose from, this awesome experience is for guests of all abilities. No experience necessary for either route.
Mountaineering Accessible for All
A moderate tour combining glacier hiking with mountain climbing. Negotiate your way across Whistler glacier then climb the rock headwall using a series of iron ladder rungs and cables leading you to the summit of Whistler Peak. This tour is suitable for ages 14 and up. Guests must make their own way to the top of Whistler Mountain with a Peak Adventure Sightseeing lift ticket.

Climbing a Via Ferrata does not require any special skills or prior experience. This thrilling activity is suitable for guests of all abilities. Your guide will give detailed instructions on use of equipment and technique for climbing. All technical equipment is included.
This tour is suitable for ages 14 and up. No climbing experience is necessary.
This tour is seasonal and only operates from July through to September. both Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains offer a range of fantastic activities for the whole family. For those who are looking for a thrill, try the Via Ferrata.
